Yes. Medical cannabis is legal in California, and as of the April 2026 federal action, state-licensed medical cannabis is recognized under Schedule III. The Green Card is a marketing and information service — we connect you with licensed providers and retailers. We don't sell, deliver, or prescribe cannabis ourselves.
Do I really save on taxes with a medical card?+
Medical patients who hold a state Medical Marijuana Identification Card (MMIC) are exempt from California's ~15% state cannabis excise tax, and generally from sales/use tax on cannabis. Some local taxes may still apply. For regular buyers, the savings usually exceed the cost of the card.
How much can I buy with a medical card?+
California medical patients can purchase up to 8 ounces of cannabis flower per transaction, compared with 28.5 grams for recreational buyers.
Do I need to be 21?+
You need to be 21+ to purchase recreationally. Medical access is available at 18+ for those with a qualifying condition.
How long does it take to get a card?+
The online evaluation is quick and recommendations are frequently issued the same day. The optional state MMIC is applied for through your county.
Do you deliver the cannabis?+
No. The Green Card never sells or delivers cannabis. We connect you with state-licensed delivery retailers who handle all sales and delivery in compliance with California law.
